Richard W. Kann, II, of Newville, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at his home with family by his side.  He was born on March 27, 1951, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Richard W. and Twyla (Wolfe) Kann.

Rich was a big-rig truck driver for more than 30 years with Shaffer Trucking in New Kingstown and Cardinal Logistics in Newville.  He was a member of the Newville First Church of God.  Rich loved his family, playing guitar, baseball, riding motorcycles, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Judy (Motter) Kann, two sons; Richard W. (wife, Denise) Kann, III of Carlisle and Michael T. (wife, Mandy) Kann of Newville, one daughter, April M. (companion, Jeb Brown) Kann of Carlisle, one brother, Rand L. (wife, Sally) Kann of Newville, one sister, Twyla Stouffer of Newville, six grandchildren; Kelsey, Karley, Hayden, Reid, Adalynn and Anna Kann and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Newville First Church of God, 475 Shippensburg Rd., Newville.  Pastor Wayne Good will officiate.  Burial will be private.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church’s building fund.
