
Mary J. Hill, 95, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord
on Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle. She was born on Nov. 23, 1918, in Mechanicsburg,
a daughter of the late Edgar and Lillian (Lowe) Lambert and the widow of Mervin E. Hill, Sr., who died May 2, 1983. Mary was a loving homemaker and had worked part-time at the Bongiorno Conference Center, Carlisle. She
enjoyed crocheting, knitting, her family and putting puzzles together. She formerly attended the Bethel
Assembly of God, Carlisle for 60 years. She
is survived by two sons; Mervin E. (wife, Christine Remlinger) Hill, Jr. of Ephrata and Gary L. wife, Terri) Hill of Gardners,
two daughters; Darlene M. (husband, William) McNaughton and Linda K. (husband, Levi) Sloop, both of Carlisle, 7 grandchildren,
8 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers; Rankin and David Lambert
and four sisters; Leona Sheets, Evelyn Fitting, Grace Smeigh and Olive Lambert. A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014,
followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Anthony
C. DeRosa officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
