
Mary Jane Grimes, 67,
of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born
on Aug. 7, 1946, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Lee C. and Helen (Mellinger) Deihl and was the widow of William E. Grimes,
Sr., who died Aug. 16, 2003. Mary Jane graduated in 1964
from the Big Spring High School in Newville. She retired after 25 years with Dickinson College Food Service.
She was a member of Friends in Christ Church, Newville. Mary Jane enjoyed baking and cooking. She is survived by two sons; William E. (wife, Carla) Grimes, Jr. and Joseph Daniel (wife, Dawn) Grimes, both of
Carlisle, one daughter, Kimberly S. (husband, David) Wickard of Carlisle, one brother, Ronald Deihl of Carlisle, four sisters;
Joyce Chestnut and Margaret Darhower, both of Carlisle, Joan Splain of Newville and Kathryn Gitt of Camp Hill, six grandchildren;
Mackenzie Grimes, Haley and Jesse Wickard and Tiffany, Hunter and Wyatt Grimes, three step-grandchildren, two step great-grandsons
and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Vance K. Deihl. A viewing will begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 30, 2014, followed
by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Rev.
Lewis Splain will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
