We
are so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed playing volleyball with your dad over the past 10+ years...looked forward to it every
weekend and it wasn't the same when all of you weren't there. On days we didn't play I always enjoyed talking
to him back in the shade under the trees. I look forward to seeing you guys though, and hope we can continue to keep
in touch in the future.

Robin, Jon and Ben,
I'm still in shock and disbelief. How can a guy
as productive, creative, energetic, strong, clever and funny as Dave be dead in the blink of an eye. I'm hurting badly
over losing him as a friend, so I can only imagine the depth or your sorrow. Please let us know if there's anything our
family can do. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. But be assured that Dave will be remembered fondly by the many people
who were lucky enough to know him.

Dear Robin, John and Ben,
We are so very shocked and saddened to hear about
Dave's sudden death. When we think of him, we think about what a wonderful father and husband he was. He was so supportive
of his boys in sports and music and was such an active, involved part of their lives. He was a great example to us. We also
admired him for his passion for life and especially volleyball. Nobody was surprised to see him attending the highschool
volleyball games this year, even though both boys had graduated. We didn't know how Carlisle volleyball was going to
survive without the Hittie family and Dave's leadership. It seems appropriate that he died on the volleyball court, playing
with John. Rhys knew him the best of all of us and will really miss him. Max was also quite shaken up when he found
out. You guys are such a close, strong family and we know you will help each other carry on. Robin, you and Dave were such
a stable, united couple and we know that you will always carry his love and strength with you in the coming days. Our thoughts
and prayers are with you. The Stephens Family _____________
Robin and Family,
I was so terribly
sorry to learn this morning of David's sudden and unexpected passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with
each of you.
Robin, even though I did not know David well, I could tell that he was a great guy and a wonderful
and loving husband and father. I'm sure that you and your family will be strengthened in the days and weeks ahead by
many fond memories that you shared together. I, more than most people, probably know how mentally tough and resilient you
are, Robin. I KNOW you will persevere in the days ahead!
Please take care of your wonderful mother, and do pass
along my thoughts to her. My mother sends her sincere condolences to you as well. She looks forward to celebrating her 100th
birthday next Thursday.
I will be in touch soon... Hugh Ringer _____________

Dear Mrs. Hittie, I wanted to send my condolences on the loss of your husband.
I worked with Dave at Hamilton Elementary. He worked directly with me in the classroom for six years, and I was always grateful
for his dedication and work ethic. He spoke often of you and your family and was very proud of your sons. Dave will be missed.
I wish you and your boys comfort and peace in your time of grief.
Lauri Kase _______________ Hi,
My name is Tyree Brown, I used to attend Hamilton Elementary School. I had found out today that a well known teacher I had
known since I had been to this school has passed away and I have found out 4 years later. I was so in shock of what had
occurred and was angry with myself on why I had just found out 4 years after it happened, He was a good teacher, when
I would get mad with things I did not understand, he was there to help me solve my problems and how to break them down,
without David L. Hittie, and some of my other teachers I have known attending Hamilton Elementary, Ms.Baker/cashmen,
ms.hagg, and the principal of the time I attend Mrs, I want to say thank you all because without you guys I would
not be where I am today, I am currently in 10th grade and my graduation year is 2020, if anyone wishes to contact
me and are familiar with who I am or seem to remember me, you can contact me at my phone number: 704-345-7749, or send
me an email at Browntyree18@gmail.com. And to the friends/family members who know David L. Hittie, we have lost a great, outstanding, and comical soul that
have outstood the rest, and I will have prayers ready to send to him and I know he is watching over his loved ones,
sorry for the lateness, of writing this letter, but yeah he was a good man. Sincerely, Ty'Ree Brown February, 19th, 2018 9:25 _______________ Your message of condolence will appear here.
