
Marion R. “Becky”
Detwiler, 73, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014, at her home. She was born on Oct. 7,
1940, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Charles E. and A. Maxine (Sheaffer) Crosson, and was the widow of John R. Detwiler,
who died July 26, 2000. Becky was a 1959 graduate
of Lewistown High School. She worked as a supervisor in the Child Development Center at the US Army War
College and retired in a secretarial position after 31 years of service. Becky was a member of the Eagles
Aerie 1299 Ladies Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, American Legion Post 101 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of the V.F.W.
Post 477 Ladies Auxiliary, all of Carlisle. Becky enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, bird watching
and visiting the Hollywood Casino. She is survived by one son,
Charles A. (fiancé, Ashley M. Cupko) Winn of Carlisle, one daughter Debra L. (husband, Pat) Tolan of Mt. Holly
Springs, one step-son, Walter (wife, Jennifer) Hockley of Gardners, her companion, Ron Davis, five grandchildren; Ian (wife,
Lacie) Winn, Jennifer (husband, Matt) Kunkel, Skylor Stitt, Ashley (companion, Adam Bloser) McGinty and Bryce Hockley, three
great-grandchildren; Tyler, Daryn and Channing.
Private funeral services will be held at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
Carlisle, with Chaplain Jeff Warner officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens,
Carlisle.
