
Robert E. Hill, 53, of Carlisle, died
suddenly on Friday, March 14, 2014, at his home. He was born June 27, 1960, in Carlisle, a son of the late
Robert and Nellie (Baker) Long and his step-parents, Ralph and Georgia (Bishop) Baker. Bob was married
to the late Debra K. (Baer) Hill, who died Dec. 25, 2010.
Bob formerly worked as a self-employed contractor and at the former Kinney Shoe Corp. and the Carlisle Ribbon
Mill. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one son, Joel D.
(and his companion, Natasha Dyarman) Hill, Carlisle, one daughter, Stacey L. Hill of Carlisle, three brothers; Ronald, Rodney
and Brian Hill, all of Carlisle, two stepsisters; Glenda Duncan and Paula Baker, both of Carlisle, two stepbrothers, Ralph
Baker of Fairfax, VA and David Beck of Hawaii, four grandchildren; Hailey J. E. Cohick, Tyler G. Hill, Skylee A. Hill and
Jordan R. Hill and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by brother, William Long, stepbrother,
Stanley Baker and sisters; Barbara Whitten and Kathy Smith. A
visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, from 5 – 7:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may
be made to Ewing Brothers Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
