
Bernita C. “Neitie” Mayberry, 89, passed to
eternal life on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She was born on
March 18, 1925, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Roy M. and Ada (Laughtsbaugh) Cline. She was a 1943 graduate of Carlisle High School. Neitie was a self-employed hair stylist
for many years in the Carlisle area. She was a longtime member of Carlisle First Church of God, where she
was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a past member of the Big Spring School Board and was formerly
active within the community. She is survived by
her loving and devoted husband of 69 years, Mark C. Mayberry, two sons; M. Duane (Cathy) Mayberry of Newville and John C.
(Lisa) Mayberry of Carlisle, one daughter, Dianne M. (Robert) Mentzer of Carlisle, one brother, Paul Cline of Carlisle, five
grandchildren; R. Matthew Mentzer, Mark C. Mentzer, Angela M. Wagner, Jon Trapper Mayberry and Taylor Mayberry, 9 great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews. Bernita was predeceased by one granddaughter, Corey M. Heishman, two brothers;
Harold and Lloyd Cline and one sister, Esther V. Miller. A
viewing will be begin at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 23, 2014, followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers
Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St.; Carlisle. Pastor Greg Hench and Rev. Daniel Mikesell will officiate.
Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity
of your choice.
