
Roy L. “Les” Morrison, 76,
of Shippensburg, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in the Swaim Health Center at Green Ridge Village, Newville.
He was born on June 10, 1937, in West Pennsboro Twp., the son of Berneita V. (Mentzer) Morrison of Newville and the
late Roy G. Morrison. He attended Shippensburg High School and
served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958. Les retired after many years as a big rig truck driver, which
he loved. He loved country music and his many boxer dogs he raised over the years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Sandra D. (Potter)
Morrison, two sons; Larry W. Morrison of Shippensburg and Roy W. (wife, Melanie) Morrison of Carlisle, two daughters; Lorie
J. (husband, William) Bauer of Lancaster and Leisa A. Kennedy of Carlisle, five grandchildren; Tanya Wilde, Britney and Brandy
Morrison, Danielle Darhower and Jeff Oberschlake, four great-grandchildren; Hunter, Dante, Audrey and Hanna, three sisters;
Vesta Darr of Carlisle, Pauline Jumper of Shippensburg and Cindy (husband, Delmar) Russell of Newville as well as a number
of cousins, nieces, nephews and his aunt Janet Mentzer of Carlisle.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Chaplain Guy Baer officiating. A visitation will
be from 6 p.m. until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
