Robert J. Weinstein, 96, of Carlisle, died Friday, December 6, 2013, at Thornwald Home, Carlisle.  He was born July 9, 1917, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late John and Florence (Deckie) Weinstein.

Robert graduate from Dickinson College and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.  He was a US Army veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  He was a retired librarian and had worked many years in Yonkers, New York.  Robert was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Carlisle.  He served on the board of directors with the Shippensburg Episcopal Home and the Bosler Free Library, Carlisle.

There are no survivors.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in St. John’s Episcopal Church, On the Square in Carlisle, with Rev. Canon Mark A Scheneman officiating.  Inurnment will be in St. John’s Chapel of the Good Shepherd Columbarium.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 612, Carlisle, PA 17013.
