Arlene
F. “Rusty” Miller, 92, of Carlisle, died on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Harrisburg Hospital. She
was born on June 4, 1921, in Newville, a daughter of the late Keefer S. and Mary (Morrison) Keck, and was the widow of Charles
Edward Miller, who died July 2, 2008.
Rusty had worked in food service most of her life and retired after 20 years of service
as the kitchen manager and chef with the Officer’s Club at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot. She
also had worked at the Hamilton Restaurant and the former Bellaire House, both of Carlisle. After retiring,
Rusty worked part-time at the Giant Food Store in Carlisle. She was a member of Carlisle First Church of
God. She
is survived by one son, Robert C. “Bob” Miller of Newbern, NC, one daughter, Bonita M. “Bonnie” Hamman
of Carlisle, three grandchildren; Jennifer Graham, Charlee Miller and Robert Miller, six great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Seldon Keck, sister, Louise Keck and grandson, Joshua Hamman. Private graveside services will be held at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle,
with Pastor Greg Hench officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
