Pauline “Spark” Oiler, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born on March 18, 1923, in Centerville, a daughter of the late Curtis A. and Mary E. (Deitch) Grissinger and
the widow of Paul A. Oiler, who died Feb. 12, 2003. Spark was a 1941 graduate of Carlisle High School and retired from the former
H. R. Gutshall and Sons, Inc., Carlisle after many years of service. She was a member of Carlisle First
Church of God, the Women’s Christian Organization, AARP Chapter 3378, A.B.W.A. and was a longtime member of the Order
of Eastern Star-Old Bellaire Chapter 375.
She is survived by one son, Thomas A. (and his wife, Wendy) Oiler of Carlisle, two grandchildren;
Jamie (and her husband, Jason) Beals and Tommy (and his wife, Annie) Oiler, three great-grandchildren; Emilie and Isaac Beals
and Hailey Oiler. Also surviving are several nephews and their families. She was predeceased
by two sisters; Margaret Whistler and Helen McCullough and one brother, William Grissinger. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. in
the Church of God Home Chapel, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Chaplain Bradley V. Moore officiating. A
time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at the home. Burial will be private at Westminster
Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.

of Tom's mother. Since hearing about her stroke on Tuesday, we have been praying for her and for all of you. Please

Tom and Wendy, So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed the times at church sitting
in front of your parents. Your Mom helped me by taking my Mom to church when I couldn't go. She was a special woman.
I have to work on Monday so can't attend the service, but I will have you and your family in my prayers.
