Jack Francis Mullen, 81, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Carlisle Regional Medical
Center. He was born on Dec. 1, 1931, in Carlisle, a son of the late George W. Mullen, Sr. and Mary Kathryn
(Starner) Christman Mullen. Jack served in the US Army during the Korean War. He received his GED and attended
Florida Southern University in Lakeland, FL. Jack retired from the US Postal Service in Carlisle after
30 years of Federal Service. He was a history buff and a member of Cumberland County Historical Society. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years,
Anna (DeWalt) Mullen, three sons; Douglas Mullen of Naples, FL, Cassius Mullen of Bluffton, SC and Addison Mullen of San Diego,
CA, one daughter, Tammy (and husband, Johnny) Schall of Carlisle, one brother, Richard Mullen of Green Valley, AZ, two sisters;
Jane Early of West Chester and Kathryn “Kate” Shover of Mt. Holly Springs, five grandchildren; Scott and Nate
Mullen, Erik, Mercedes and Jaclyn Schall and many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by brothers;
Warren, Donald, Robert, Mark and George Mullen, Jr. and sisters; Leah McGonigal, Betty Mullen and Eleanor Amato. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013,
at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. A visitation will be from 1
p.m. until time of services. Burial will be private in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to Cumberland County Historical Society, 21 N. Pitt St., P.O. Box 626, Carlisle, PA 17013.

Dad's passing
was expected but it's never easy losing a loved one. So many things we can say to loved ones but never do, thinking there
is time for that is a mistake. Love you, Dad. very sorry for the teen years.
