He will be remembered mostly for the love he gave to his family and his greatest joy was spending time with them. He also loved playing chess, shooting pool, listening to classical music, studying the night sky and was an avid reader. These passions were gifts he shared and left with many who were fortunate enough to have known him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Mary (King) Stover, two daughters; Sonya (Brad) Sheely of Lewisberry, Jamie (Todd) Lebo of Bressler, four brothers; Robert (Isabelle) Franklin of Carlisle, Kenneth (Freda) Franklin of St. Thomas, Ronald Stover of Pottstown, and Gerald (Wanda) Stover of Schoenchen, KS, three sisters; Patricia Seyler of Reading, Sylvia Horn of Mt. Holly Springs and Linda Watson of Shippensburg, seven grandchildren; Kasey, Stephanie, Brittany, Johnny, Helen, Lillian and James, seven great-grandchildren, Skylar, Aidan, Gage, Nova, Summer, Axyl and Bella, his beloved pets, a dog, Chance and two cats, Miss Stray & Rascal, as well as his dear friend and chess buddy, Ron Penner.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sisters; Lois Bream and Shirley Smith as well as many beloved pets including a very special cat named Baxter.

Jim's wishes were to be cremated and his remains will rest in Germany, a place he always dreamed of visiting. Services will be at the convenience of the family.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, assisted the family with the arrangements.
