
Sara
E. Caufman, 98, of Carlisle, passed to eternal life on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1914, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie E. (Smith) Thompson
and the widow of John W. Caufman, Sr., who died in 1972. Sara was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. She is survived by four sons; Earl Caufman of Carlisle,
David Caufman of Shrevesport, LA, Ronald Caufman of Newville and John Caufman, Jr. of Carlisle, six daughters; MaryAnn Martin
of Carlisle, Madelyn Hill of Mt. Holly Springs, Gaylea Kelly of Carlisle, Nancy Roof of Carlisle, Linda Jumper of Mt. Holly
Springs and Susan Morda of Carlisle, a half-brother, Harry Thompson of Lancaster, many grandchildren including great-great-great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Sara was predeceased by her foster parents; Jacob and Carrie Wolf and two
sisters; Ethel Gardner and Charlotte Thompson.
Funeral
services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
with Pastor Mike Hammer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A
viewing will be on Monday from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
