Violet M. Dively, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013, at Claremont Nursing & Rehab.
Center. She was born Dec. 3, 1919, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late George D. and Lottie (Kitner) Nichleson.
She was the widow of Ray Charles Adams, who died in 1946 and Harry I. Hoover, who died in 1980. Violet was a loving and devoted homemaker. She
was a former longtime member of Eagles Aerie 1299 Ladies Auxiliary, Carlisle. Violet was the last surviving
child of eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years Terence L. Dively, four sons; Robert L. Adams of
Lansdown, Harold E. Hoover of Youngstown, OH, Paul H. Hoover of Carlisle and Alvin J. Hoover of Glen Burnie, MD, four daughters;
Phyllis M. Holloway of Carlisle, Shelby J. Adams of Hanover, Harriett A. Durham of Carlisle and Alechia J. Jenkins of Carlisle,
17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Brian Casale officiating. Burial will be private in Westminster
Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A visitation will be on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

I knew
this sweet lady for a couple years from visiting at Claremont 2-3 times a week. Always taking my hand and kissing it and
blessing me. Always a kind word and willing to help with word games and puzzles. I shall miss her.
