
Kathryn Melinda “Katie” Gutshall, 88, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her
home. She was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Newville, a daughter of the late George A. and Flora E. (Foose) Cohick,
and was the widow of Robert Eugene Gutshall, who died Oct. 16, 1996. Katie was a nurse’s aide and dietary aide and had worked 25 years
at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. She also had worked at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation
Center and Forest Park Health Center, both of Carlisle. She attended Carlisle Brethren In Christ Church,
Carlisle. Katie was a member of the Newville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Carlisle AmVets, Widow of
Elks - Carlisle Lodge and a life member of Carlisle V.F.W. Post 477 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading,
dancing, parties, traveling and having fun. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Monica K. Gutshall, with whom she lived, one sister, Verneda
Cohick Brandt Kramer of Newville, two grandchildren; Dashell Robert Fittry and Katlyn Alexandra Fittry, one great-grandson,
Nehemiah Childs and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving are her devoted caregiver,
Nancy Herlt and her loving dog, Jasmin. She was predeceased by five brothers; Samuel H., George L., Conrad
M., Frank S. and Roscoe Cohick and one sister, Sarah R. Barrick. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630
S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Harold Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens,
Carlisle. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Tuesday
from 12:30 p.m. until time of services.

Monica, So sorry that your mother is gone. I'm a resident
at Sarah Todd Home now which you may know. I had a massive stroke and then a brain seizure and almost died so I cannot be
alone. I came here since Kathy works here. I'm getting used to it and I like it. ______________
