Kenneth
Lee Geist, 77, of Carlisle, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at his home. He was born on Sept. 14, 1935, in
Alburtis, a son of the late Harry Geist and Margaret (Reinert) Geist Bauer. Ken was an independent truck driver for many years.
After his driving career, Ken was employed with Carlisle Tire & Wheel and Carlisle Syntec. Ken
enjoyed doing string art, puzzles and home renovations. He was a member of AARP and the American Automobile
Association. He is survived
by his wife of 34 years, Amelia M. (Hall) Geist, his children; Deborah (and her husband Michael) Abelovsky of Jim Thorpe,
David (and his wife, Barbara) Geist of Allentown, Ruthann Geist of Fogelsville and Lucile (and her husband, Joel) Maletsky
of Allentown, brother, Clyde R. (and his wife, Angie) Geist of Perkasie, sister, Jean Gambler of Macungie, step-brothers;
Dallas and Nevin Bauer of Alburtis, step-sister, Nancy Beitler of Alburtis, adopted son, Isaiah Hall-Geist at home, six grandchildren,
five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by a son, Randy Geist,
a step-sister, Delores Kehm and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, where a viewing
will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 1:30
PM, at the funeral home with Rev. Walter R. Reed officiating. Interment will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial
Gardens, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s A.M.E. Church, P.O. Box 121,
Shippensburg, PA 17257.

sorry to hear of the passing of Kenneth. He and Amelia always showed Aunt Sester such a lovely time when we visited. We all
