Jane L. (Heineman) Firestone, 58, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Harrisburg Hospital.  She was born on January 20, 1955, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Louise (Lefferts) Heineman and the widow of Barry R. Firestone, who died on Dec. 12, 2010.

Jane was a 1972 graduate of Carlisle High School and retired from the Carlisle Barracks after many years of service.  Jane was a secretary with the Environmental Health Services at Carlisle Barracks.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Carlisle and the Harrisburg Elks.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (and her husband, Larry) Hershey of Newville, three brothers; Douglas (and his wife, Jo) Heineman of Carlisle, Dale (and his wife, Alice) Heineman of East Berlin and Carl (and his wife, Leisa) Heineman of Carlisle, one step-daughter, Kimberly Firestone of Harrisburg, four step-grandchildren; Austin, Damien and Shania Hershey, all of Newville and Mia McShane of Harrisburg, life-long friend, Cheryl Hetrick of Mechanicsburg and her son, Micheal Danner of Franklintown, many nieces, nephews and her beloved canine friend, Hailey.

A time of visitation and remembrance of Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.

Dear Heineman family,
I am so sorry to hear of Jane's passing. Sandy and I will be in Delaware and won't be able to attend the services, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Although Jane is no longer here, your fond memories of her will remain in your hearts forever.
