Sarajane Rice Roebuck, age 91, of Windsor Mill, MD and formerly of Carlisle, entered eternal life on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, MD.  She was born July 1, 1921, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Eugene and Catherine (Montgomery) Smith Rice and the widow of Joseph Robert Roebuck, Jr., who preceded her in death, Sept. 1, 1989.

Sarajane was a 1941 graduate of Carlisle High School and also graduated from the Apex School of Cosmetology in Philadelphia. She formerly owned and operated Jane's Beauty Shop in Carlisle and retired from the Carlisle Hospital after 20+ years of service as an L.P.N. She was currently a member of Christian Life Church in Baltimore and a former member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Carlisle. She was a member of the Deborah Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star – Jephta Chapter No. 4, where she was a Past Worthy Matron.

Sarajane is survived by two sons; Joseph Robert Roebuck, III of Harrisburg and Randy Roebuck and wife Kathleen of San Francisco, California; three daughters; Cynthia Elaine Roebuck and Marsha Roberta Roebuck, both of Baltimore, MD and Monica Roebuck-Obi (and husband, Benedict Obi) of Burtonsville, MD, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends. Sarajane was preceded in death by her triplet sister and brother; Kathleen Thomas and Eugene Rice, also her sister, Maude Cuff and half-brother, William Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 11:30 AM in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, at the corner of Lincoln and North West Street, Carlisle, with Pastor Daniel Keys officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
