Elizabeth Jane Foster, 93, of Mt. Holly Springs, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1919, in Mt. Holly Springs, a daughter of the late Levi and Luvenia (Parker) Smith and the widow of Robert L. Foster, Sr., who died Aug. 23, 1978.

Elizabeth attended Carlisle High School. She was a loving homemaker and had also worked at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot, the former McCoy Electronics, Mt. Holly Springs and Musselman’s Foods in Adams County. She was a member and Church Mother of Unity Church in Mt. Holly Springs and the Bibleway Hibner Memorial Church of God in Christ, Carlisle.

She is survived by seven daughters; Evelyn L. Smallwood, Barbara J. Collins, Carole A. (and her husband, Leon) Ramsey, Beverly E. (and her husband, Frank) Floyd, all of Carlisle, Vina E. Stokes and Sharon L. (and her husband, Donald) Wansley, both of Harrisburg and Karen D. Amerson of Chambersburg, three sons; Richard E. (and his wife, Stephanie) Foster, Larry P. (and his wife, Anna) Foster, both of Carlisle and Eric D. (and his wife, Michelle) Foster of Mt. Holly Springs, a step-daughter, Sarah F. Byers of Carlisle, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was predeceased by three step-sons; Henry Rondell Foster and James and Robert Foster, one step-daughter, Clara E. Thomas, grandson, Leon Ramsey, Jr. and great-great-grandson, Jaiden Carnes.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastors Don Watkins and Robert L. Woodall officiating. Burial will be at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
