Ruth A. Shughart, 63, of Carlisle, passed
away on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at her home. She was born on Sunday, September 4, 1949, in Carlisle, a daughter of the late
Norman N. and Ruth I. (Halter) Weigle and the widow of Harry J. Shughart, who died April 8, 1974. Ruth attended Carlisle High School. She was a
former prep cook for several area truck stops in Carlisle and also had worked for Fry Communications for seven years. She
attended Resonate Community Church, Carlisle and was a member of the Women of the Moose, Carlisle. She is survived by two sons; Neil D. Shughart and Toma J. Thissen, both of Carlisle,
two daughters; Dani M. Brenneman of Mechanicsburg and Lori J. Shughart of Carlisle, four brothers; Leroy, Paul, Greg and Randy
Weigle, all of Carlisle, two sisters; Patricia Minnich and Tina Toombs, both of Carlisle, six grandchildren; Joseph Shughart,
Keshia Brenneman, Tyler Thissen and Kyle, Kayla and Karli Edmondson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one
brother, J. R. Weigle. Funeral services
will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with
Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on
Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Celtic Healthcare of
Carlisle, Suite 100, 220 Wilson St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
