Helen M. Kerr, 96, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, Carlisle. She was born on Thursday, April 13, 1916, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Roy S. and Marie (Meyer) Rice and was the widow of James A. Kerr, who died April 11, 1987.

Helen was a 1934 graduate of the Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh. She was a loving homemaker and member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle.

She is survived by two daughters; Anne M. Kerr of Hanover and Dorothy K. (and her husband, Darren) Gutshall of Carlisle, three sons; Donald W. (and his wife, Nancy) Kerr of Churchville, John T. Kerr of Oxbow, Canada and Alan J. (and his wife, Patricia) Kerr of Dublin, one sister, Ruth A. Rice of Carlisle, five grandchildren; Pamela, Susan, Timothy and Tiffany Kerr and Heather Heinemeyer and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Roy S. Rice, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery, Chambersburg. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013 or to the Delone Catholic High School, Memorial Scholarship Fund, 140 S. Oxford Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of arrangements.
