Joanne S. Conrad, 61, of Newville, passed
away on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at home with loving family by her side. She was born on Wednesday, April 4, 1951, in Carlisle,
a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Jean W. (Kunkle) Bailey. Joanne was a 1969 graduate of Carlisle High School. She was employed by the former
G. S. Electric Co., Carlisle for 22 years and had most recently worked for the Carlisle Area School District for seven years.
Joanne enjoyed taking care of her home, hiking in the mountains and visiting the seashore. She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Roger L. Conrad, one daughter,
Sonia J. Stamy of Newville, one stepdaughter, Jennie L. Conrad of Newville, one brother, Gary Bailey of Vermont, four sisters;
Lynn Gutshall, Karen Shughart and Sharon Goodling, all of Carlisle and Judy Heffelfinger of New Bloomfield, one grandson,
Isaiah Newhouse and many nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
with Pastor Dale E. Barrick officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held
on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
