Gayle K. Mullen, 96, of Carlisle, died at Thornwald Home on Sunday, March 17, 2013. She was born March 25, 1916, in Carlisle, the youngest of three children to the late Harry David and Sarah Elizabeth (Wonders) Keiser.

Gayle was a 1934 graduate of Carlisle High School. On November 17, 1935 she married Robert (Moon) Mullen in Hagerstown, MD. They lived on the Keiser family farm in Middlesex Twp., where they owned and operated the MoonGayle Motel for 20 years. After selling the motel, they retired to Carlisle. Mrs. Mullen was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle. She was also an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed playing bridge. She also loved watching the Orioles and Phillies.

Gayle is survived by her two daughters; Betsy Rowe (Bob) and Jan Wolf, both of Carlisle, six grandchildren; Robin Rowe Williams (Doug), Bob A. Rowe (Karen), Dwight Rowe (Michele), David Wolf (Jody), Chris Wolf (Peg), and Kerri Wolf Owens (Perry) and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, one brother, Albert Keiser, one sister, Kathryn Linah and her son-in-law, Dave Wolf.

At Gayle’s request, private burial services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with Pastor Timothy Sadler officiating. The family would like to thank the nurses, aides and personnel of Thornwald Home for their compassionate and loving care of Gayle during her more than five years as a resident.
