

Grace I. Zimmerman, 89, of Mechanicsburg
died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born on Saturday, January 19, 1924, in Carlisle,
a daughter of the late Francis H. and Caroline Mae (Gibson) Horner and was the widow of George F. Zimmerman, Sr., who died
April 29, 2002. Grace
was a Carlisle High School graduate and a US Marine Corps veteran of WWII. Grace retired after many years of service with
the former Embers Hotel and Convention Center, Carlisle. She also had worked at the Woolworth's Store at the former
M. J. Mall, Carlisle. She formerly attended Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown. Grace enjoyed playing bingo
and also enjoyed contributing to charities especially for animals. She is survived by two daughters; Andrea L. (and her husband, Thomas) Gingrich and Denise
S. Smith, both of Carlisle, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her canine companion,
Chickie. Grace was preceded in death by one son, George F. Zimmerman, Jr., who died Aug. 11, 1980 and two brothers; Francis
and Jack Horner. Funeral services
will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial
with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will
be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Memorial contributions may made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg
Area Inc., 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
