Lynston A. "Laddie" Dick, 84, of
Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the Bridges At Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg. He was born on September 29, 1928,
in Reading, England, a son of the late John G. and Beatrice C. (Cripps) Dick. Laddie graduated from Pasadena Junior College in Pasadena, CA. He was
a draftsman/architect and retired after many years of service with the Ralph M. Parsons Co. in Los Angeles, CA. Laddie was
a master ship model builder and a published writer in nautical magazines. He was a remarkable person who overcame the physical
handicap of being born with only three fingers, and became an inspiration to many who loved him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Betty M.
(Lillibridge) Dick, two sons; John J. Hamlin and wife, Nancy of Daytona Beach, FL, David G. Dick and wife, Nancy of Raleigh,
NC, three daughters; Lucinda L. Patterson and husband, Pat of El Dorado Hills, CA, Ann M. Dailey and husband, John of Carlisle
and Mary L. Cantore and husband, Steve of Camp Hill, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Laddie was predeceased by
his brother, John E. G. Dick. In
following Laddie's wishes, services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
Carlisle, is handling the arrangements.
