JoAnne A. Freeman, 70, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Carlisle. She was born on Monday, July 20, 1942, and was a daughter of the late Emory and Nellie Pearl Alligood. JoAnne was the widow of Herbert Eugene Freeman, who died Feb. 10, 2007.

JoAnne was formerly employed by Carlisle Area School District in the cafeteria and the Pizza Hut restaurant for many years. She attended the Carlisle Brethren In Christ Church. JoAnne enjoyed bowling, but her family was always her focus and she and her late husband had a wonderful marriage of 45 years. She enjoyed spending her free time with her grandchildren. In her later years, she attended the Adult Day Program at her church, where she enjoyed social activities and fellowship.

She is survived by two daughters; Shari M. Kyle and her husband, Jeff Betton of Mt. Holly Springs and Nancy J. Yentzer and her husband, Rod of Carlisle, a sister-in-law, Jackie Starz and her husband, Joe of Glen Rock, a granddaughter, Peyton Yentzer, three grandsons; John Kyle and his wife, Nikki, Bo Kyle and Chase Yentzer, two great-grandchildren; Ethan Kyle and Aubrey Kyle and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Doug Sider officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.

Very sorry for your loss Nancy and Rod. I enjoyed getting to know your Mom during my time at CBIC. May you know God's peace during this time.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother. What a Wonderful
Loving, Caring Lady. The thing I most remember about JoAnn is the fun and laughter we had working at Pizza Hut. She will be missed. You girls are in my prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. She was a lovely lady. She always had a smile on her face & loved my dog Trigger ( The golden doodle from Cumberland Crossings.) You & your family are in my thoughts & prayers during this hard time.

We are just finding out about Joann's death. We are so sorry.  We were trying to find her to tell her of her sister's Nans death. So sorry.
