
Edward D. "Charley" Barrick,
80, of Carlisle, died on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg. He was born on Saturday, July
23, 1932, in Newville, a son of the late Henry N. and Mildred P. (Bloser) Barrick.
He was retired from Carlisle Syntec Co. and worked at the
former C. H. Masland, Carlisle, in the early 1970's. He also was self-employed in lawn care and maintenance. Ed enjoyed
the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman and racing and working on old cars. He was a lifetime member of the
Handyman Club of America. Ed is
survived by his companion of 38 years, Peggy L. Russell, a daughter, Karla A. Silvis (and her husband, Todd) of Carlisle,
a brother, Henry E. Barrick (and his wife, JoAnn) of Newville, two granddaughters; Kayla Nickerson and Chyenne Nickerson,
both of Carlisle, a grandson, Samuel Barrick and a step-grandson, Lucas Silvis, both of Carlisle, one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis W. Barrick, who died in 1999. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers
Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Dennis A. Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley
Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of Edward Barrick ,
my uncle Charlie. He always called me Shorty growing up as a child. I have very fond memories. So sorry for your loss.
