
M. Lucille Shughart, 97, of Newville, passed
away on Monday, January 7, 2013, at her daughter's home in Carlisle. She was born on Tuesday, October 26, 1915, in Perry
County. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Banks Ulsh and Edna May (Frey) Ulsh. She was the widow of George H. Shughart,
her husband of 38 years, who died January 13, 1973. Lucille owned and operated a dairy farm in Penn Township for many years. She was a member of the
Trinity United Methodist Church, Walnut Bottom.
She
is survived by three daughters; Peggy C. (and husband, Les) Griest of Carlisle, Ruby J. (and husband, Roy) Rhoads of Newville
and Judy A. (and husband, Henry) Welker of Biglerville, four grandchildren; Lesa Swenson, Brent Griest, Travis Welker and
Andrea Bennett, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Eugene
Shughart, who died August 18, 1952, two brothers; Lee Ulsh and George Ulsh and a granddaughter, Renee Rhoads.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral
Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Rev. Harold Bolyard will officiate. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made
to Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, Inc., Adams County Office, 260 West High St., Gettysburg, PA 17325.
