Elaine Sarver, 39, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Monday, October 29, 1973, in Baltimore, a daughter of Patrick Nelka of Millersville, MD and Donna E. (Dale) Getter and her husband, Charles Smelser of Hughesville, MD.

Elaine attended the New Life Community Church, Carlisle. Elaine will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Charles E. Sarver, two sons; Christopher R. Kovack of St. Thomas, PA and Sidney J. Sarver of Buckeystown, MD, two daughters; Autumn E. Roberts of Hagerstown, MD and Sharon L. Sarver of Buckeystown and her maternal grandparents, Betty I. and Clyde R. Dale of Heathsville, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 3 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be private. A viewing will be on Saturday from 2 p.m. until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Fibromyalgia Association, 2121 South Towne Centre Place, Suite 300, Anaheim, CA 92806.

Donna, you know my heart is with you Sis. It's never expected to survive a child and I know your pain cannot be imagined.

Elaine, I remember fondly the years that you and Marlise came to visit me on summer breaks... How I cried just thinking that something might happen to the plane and you two beautiful children, traveling alone, would not have your loved ones there to comfort you.

Just that thought of losing you would bring me to tears.

We love you Elaine and will keep you in our hearts forever. I know life gave you challenges that seemed unfair. You have peace now.
