Paul S. Stitzel, 86, of Carlisle, passed
away on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at his home. He was born on Monday, August 30, 1926, in Mechanicsburg, a son of the late
Chester and Mary (Fernbaugh) Stitzel. Paul was a 1944 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He attended North
Middleton First Church of God, Carlisle. Paul retired after more than 30 years of service with the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply
Depot. He is survived by his loving
and devoted wife of 40 years, Gladys L. (Gayman) Stitzel, two daughters; Patricia Scott and her husband, David of Mechanicsburg
and Deborah McGrogan and her husband, John of Roslyn, one step-son, John Gayman and his wife, Connie of Carlisle, five grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Stitzel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the
North Middleton First Church of God, 2020 Waggoners Gap Rd., Carlisle, with Pastor Roddy A. Runyan officiating. Burial with
military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday
from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial
contributions may be made to North Middleton Church of God Cemetery Assn., C/O Kenny Wickard, 1630 Waggoners Gap Rd., Carlisle,
PA 17013.
