Donald W. Comp, 84, of Newville, died on
Monday, September 24, 2012, at Thornwald Home, Carlisle. He was born on Thursday, March 22, 1928, in Green Park, Perry County,
a son of the late Claten Elwood Comp and Mary Susan (Wallace) Comp and was married to the late Grace I. (Donovan) Comp, who
died April 3, 2004. Don
graduated from the former Landisburg High School and was a US Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He worked for 20 years
with the former Ernest Shover Farm Equipment, Carlisle and retired in 1990 from PPG Industries, Carlisle after more than 10
years of service. Don was a member of Hays Grove United Methodist Church, Newville. He is survived by one son, Stephen W. Comp and his wife Kay of Newville, one
sister, Lena Kretzing of New Bloomfield, one granddaughter, Annette Cramer of Newville, one great-grandson, Clayten Cramer
and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by two brothers; Oscar and Clair Comp and two sisters; Dorothy Henry
and Helen Weller. Funeral services
will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
with Pastor Barbara A. Servello officiating. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Hays
Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Newville. A viewing will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at
the funeral home. Immediately following the graveside service a time of fellowship will be held at the church. Memorial contributions
may be made to Hays Grove United Methodist Church, C/O Lila Richardson, 177 E. Main St., Walnut Bottom, PA 17266.
