Corey Mayberry Heishman, 41, of Newville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 10, 2012, in Ocean View, Delaware. She was born on Wednesday, March 24, 1971, in Carlisle, the daughter of M. Duane Mayberry and Cathy A. (Cohick) Mayberry of Newville.

Corey was a 1989 graduate of Big Spring High School, Newville. She had been employed for nearly ten years with C.P.A.R.C., Carlisle. She was an active member of Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church, Newville, where she and her husband were Youth Leaders. Corey’s passion was horses and she had participated in the National Cutting Horse Youth Program and after reaching the age of 18, she continued to participate as a non-pro. She enjoyed being with her family, golfing and going to the beach. Corey will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.

In additional to her parents, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 18 years, Douglas E. Heishman, two sons; Dalton H. and Clayton D. Heishman, both at home. Corey is also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church, 720 Green Spring Rd., Newville, with Pastor Darrell L. Potteiger officiating. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Following the service all are invited for fellowship in the church social hall. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contribution be made in Corey’s name to the Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church.

My folks and I were neighbors of Corey and her Mom & Dad 20+ years ago. That was a long time ago, but I can still remember waiting for the school bus together.

Needless to say, we're all shocked and saddened by her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family.
