Magda Lanyi, 93, of Carlisle, died on Saturday,
September 1, 2012, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1919, in Marosvasarhely, Hungary, a daughter
of the late Elemer and Jolan Nemes and was the widow of Thomas Lanyi, who died March 19, 2005. Magda retired as Vice-President of Data Processing
with the former National Bank of Washington in Washington D.C. after 31 years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick
Catholic Church, Carlisle. She is
survived by one son, Thomas Lanyi of Carlisle. A
memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Shrine Church, 152 E.
Pomfret St., Carlisle, with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Patrick’s New
Catholic Cemetery, North Middleton Twp. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Calvin Synod School Fund, P.O. Box 36141, Canton, OH 44735.

Magda was a very Sweet lady and fun to chat with. She will be missed, but I know she is
in a better place. The Family is in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and be with you all in your loss of a very Dear
Mother and lovely lady.
