Steven M. Barrick, 59, of Newville,
passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on Tuesday, September 16, 1952,
in Newville, a son of the late John C. and Mary E. (McDermond) Barrick. Steve was a 1971 graduate
of Big Spring High School and an employee for over 30 years with Pyrotek, Inc. of Carlisle. He was a member of the Big Spring
United Lutheran Church, Newville and a life member of the Upper Frankford Twp. Volunteer Fire Co., where he served as President
and Vice-President for 16 years and was well-known for his chicken-corn-soup at the annual Fireman’s Fair. He also belonged
to the Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighters Association. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years,
Myra E. (Sims) Barrick, one daughter, Andrea M. Ramos and her husband, Tristan of Newville, three brothers; Rickey G. Barrick
and his wife, Cristen, Layne J. Barrick and his wife, Julie and Loyan K. Barrick and his wife, Tammy, all of Newville, two
sisters; Saundra L. Ellis and her husband, William and Sharon A. Griffey and her husband, Richard, both of Newville and many
other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother. Eddie J. Barrick Funeral services will
be held on Monday, August 20, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Big Spring United Lutheran Church, 101 Crossroad School Rd., Newville,
with Rev. Jean Kuebler officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, with Fireman’s honors.
A viewing will be on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church. Following the graveside service family and
friends are invited back to the church for a time of fellowship. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.

been in our prayers since Steve's stroke. Aunt Sylvia has kept us updated. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.
Steve is at peace now and we pray you will find solace in that. We will not be able to attend the service on Monday...but
you will be in our thoughts.
