
Rev. Reginald Lee Johnson, 74, of Carlisle,
passed away with his loving wife by his side on Monday, August 6, 2012, at ManorCare Health Services, Carlisle. He was born
on Monday, October 11, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Elijah and Myrtle (Wygate) Johnson. Reggie was a 1956 graduate of Plum Borough High
School and had attended classes at H.A.C.C. for maintenance and electrical work. He retired in 2000 after 27 years of service
with PPG Industries. Reggie and his late brother, Fred formerly owned and operated Johnson Brothers Hauling in New Kensington.
He was a member and associate Pastor with Abundant Life in New Kensington and also attended Bethel Assembly God Church, Carlisle.
Reggie evangelized in the local area hospitals, nursing homes, highways and the truck stop ministry. He enjoyed playing the
harmonica and guitar, fishing and traveling. He also enjoyed having prayer meetings and Bible study in his home. Reggie was
known by many as a kind and loving person with a giving spirit and will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Dolores J. (Mills)
Johnson, two sons; Reginald L. Johnson, Jr. of Harrisburg and Kevin S. Johnson of Enola, three daughters; Regina L. Robinson
of Youngstown, OH, Rev. Sylvia E. Beard of Boardman, OH and Kimberly M. Briggs of Carlisle, one brother, Jerome Johnson of
Pittsburgh, one sister, Gloria Bassett of New Kensington, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Reggie was preceded in death by three brothers; Rev. Fred Johnson, Gerald Johnson and Bob Keys and three sisters; Abigail
Peterson, Honaka Bivens and Shirley Brown. Funeral
services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012, at 12:00 noon in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
with Rev. Roger C. Thomas, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will
be on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
