
Romaine F. Beam, 93 of Carlisle,
passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Cumberland Crossings.
She was born August 27, 1921 in
Carlisle, a daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle (Arnold) Burgard. She was the widow of Edwin A. Beam,
Sr., who died on February 11, 2002. Mrs. Beam was a 1939 graduate of Carlisle High School.
She was a homemaker and a member of Letort Evangelical United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bingo
and playing cards but her family was the most important thing in her life. Surviving are
a son, Edwin A. (Cynthia) Beam, Jr. of Carlisle; two daughters, Marilynn (Ronald) Kuntz of Mt. Holly Springs and Sylvia (Michael)
Provenzano of Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren. In addition
to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anita; a brother, Charles Burgard; and a sister,
Marie Floyd. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday,
September 10, 2014 at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with her nephew, Rev. Charles R. Burgard,
officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. The
family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg,

Very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was an exceptional woman and a wonderful friend
to "Jeannie". We have shared a lot of wonderful memories and stories with our mother.
