

George K. Shatto, 79, of Carlisle, died Sunday,
July 15, 2012, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Friday, April 14, 1933, in Carlisle, a son
of the late Allen W. and Loie E. (Tanger) Shatto.
George was a 1951 graduate of Carlisle High School and was a
US Army veteran of the Korean War. George worked construction most of his life and retired from Ritter Brothers Construction,
Harrisburg. He was a longtime member of Laborers International Union of North America Local 1180. George enjoyed working on
cars. He is survived by
his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Vivian M. (Lebo) Shatto, four sons; Stephen A. Shatto of Newville, George "Randy"
Shatto of Carlisle, Michael G. Shatto of Carlisle and Mark H. (and his wife, Susan) Shatto of Newport, two brothers; James
Shatto of Carlisle and Joseph Shatto of Hendersonville, NC, two granddaughters; Crystal Shatto and Melinda Shatto, one grandson,
Jesse Shatto, one great-grandson, Haidyn Griffin and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by one brother,
Gary Shatto. Funeral services
will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with
Pastor Mary Kay Miller and Pastor Dave Herr officiating. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will
be in LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the funeral
home.
