Gordon D. Nell, 84, of Carlisle, passed away
on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle. He was born on Monday, December 5, 1927, in Carlisle,
a son of the late Titus and Daisy B. (Stouffer) Nell. Gordon was a 1945 graduate of Carlisle High School and was a US Army veteran of WWII. He
received his Pharmacy degree from Temple University, Philadelphia in 1951. Gordon retired after 30 years of service from the
former Carlisle Hospital, where he was the Chief Pharmacist. He also had worked for the former Eppley’s Drug Store in
Carlisle. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Carlisle. Gordon enjoyed hiking, golfing and square dancing. He
was a former member of several local organizations, including Toast Masters. He is survived his loving and devoted wife of nearly 31 years, Janice L. (Penn)
Nell, two daughters; Deborah D. Nell of Fallon, NV and Debra A. Sedeshe of Shippensburg, one son, Michael H. Shatzer and his
wife, Kathy of Highlands Ranch, CO, one sister, Gloria Fanus of Shippensburg, three grandchildren; Derek and Dean Shatzer
and Emma Sedeshe and one nephew, Mike Fanus. He was preceded in death by two sons; Donald and Dennis Nell and two brothers;
Richard and George Nell. Funeral
services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz and Rev. Dr. Harold "Pete" Posey officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial
Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to his church.

So sorry to have missed my Step Father, as I remember he paid for my surgery on my legs, which made it possible
for me to walk when I was 5. He also was a great Pharmacist. Surely I will miss him.
