

James W. Foster, US Navy Retired, 82, of
Carlisle, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012, at his home. He was born on Sunday, May 25, 1930, in Carlisle, a son of the
late Robert L. and Ida B. (Douglas) Foster.
Jim attended Carlisle High School and retired from
the US Navy after 20 years of service. He also served for 19 years with the Merchant Marines. He was a veteran of the Korean
War, Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. Jim held many honors for his military service, including the Vietnam Service
Medal with two Bronze Stars. After retiring from military service, Jim worked as a part-time security guard in the Carlisle
area. He is survived by his loving
and devoted wife of more than 32 years, Milagros (Amar) Foster, one son, PO2 (Ret)Cham Foster, USN of Carlisle, two daughters;
Cenalyn Rivera of Orlando, FL and Michelle Foster of Carlisle, his stepmother, Elizabeth Foster of Mt. Holly Springs, three
brothers; Richard E., Larry P., and Eric D. Foster, eight sisters; Sarah F. Byers, Evelyn L. Smallwood, Barbara J. Collins,
Carole A. Ramsey, Vina E. Stokes, Sharon L. Wansley, Beverly E. Floyd and Karen D. Amerson, five grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert A. and Henry Rondell Foster and one sister, Clara Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Darwin Hython officiating. Burial with military honors will
be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Monday, June 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. A viewing will be on Friday from 6 -
8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to his
wife.
