Carson W. Kaltenbaugh, 69, of Newville,
passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sunday, January 24, 1943, in Rig,
West Virginia, a son of the late Jack W. and Wanda E. (Henry) Kaltenbaugh. Carson served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for more than
25 years as a mechanic with the former Kinney Shoe Corp., Carlisle. He was a life member of Friendship Hose Co. No. 47 in
Newville. He is survived by one
brother, Jackie A. (and his wife, Camilla) Kaltenbaugh, one sister, Roxie G. Bittinger, two nephews; James T. Bittinger, Jr.
and Harlan R. Bittinger and one great-nephew, Dustin M. Bittinger, all of Newville. He was preceded in death by one brother,
Emmett D. Kaltenbaugh, who died April 9, 2012. Funeral
services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle,
with Rev. Steven Gibb officiating. Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Cumberland Valley
Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions
may be made to the American Lung Assoc. of PA, 3001 Old Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.

I was very sad to hear that Carson had passed. I remember talking with him from time to
time when I would visit the firehouse. He would listen and then lend good advice. He will most certainly be missed...
