William L. Troutman, Jr., 66, of Carlisle, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at his home. He was born on Monday, October 15, 1945, in Harrisburg, a son of Bertha A. (Shelly) Troutman of Carlisle and the late William L. Troutman, Sr.

Bill was a 1963 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had been employed for the past 25 years with Fry Communications in Mechanicsburg, where he was a maintenance technician. Bill was a member of Eagles Aerie 1299 and the Moose Family Center, both of Carlisle and the V.F.W. Post 8851 in Boiling Springs. Bill enjoyed his family, working on projects with his grandsons and motorcycles. He also was an avid pool player and played at many of the local clubs.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Bonnie K. (Holda) Troutman, one son, Corey L. Troutman of Carlisle, one daughter, Michelle D. Troutman of Carlisle, one step-son, Thomas E. French of Carlisle, one step-daughter, Tracy A. Harris of Westland, MI, one brother, Marlin A. Troutman of Mt. Holly Springs, one sister, Donna J. Dolan of Gardners, three grandsons; Domaniq, Soren and Asher Maurer and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Boiling Springs V.F.W. Post 8851, 26A Hamilton Rd., Boiling Springs. Burial will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.

 I haven't seen Bill for a few years, but think of him often. He was one of our good friends growing up in Boiling Springs, and it is sad to know he is gone. Our prayers and sympathy are with his family.

 I haven't seen Bill for a while, but I knew him for over 35 years,and had some great discussions with him. One of the finest and brightest men I've ever known, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you. He's been in our prayers since we first heard of his battle.
