
Charles E. Sipe, 94, of Carlisle, passed
away on Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Thornwald Home, Carlisle. He was born on Wednesday, July 25, 1917, in Carlisle, a son of
the late Elmer E. and Sadie (Snyder) Sipe and was married to the late Grace (Anderson) Sipe, who died March 20, 2006. Charlie retired from the Carlisle Area School
District where he worked in the maintenance department. He also operated a produce stand at the intersection of Bloserville
Rd. and Newville Rd. for many years. Charlie formerly attended McClure’s Gap Church of God and most recently was attending
Friends In Christ Church, both of Newville. Charlie enjoyed woodworking, cutting firewood and working his produce stand. He
will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He
is survived by one son, Raymond W. Sipe (and wife, Mary) of Carlisle, three daughters; Martha E. Adams (and husband, Ronald)
of Plainfield, Susan J. Hancock (and husband, Denny) of Shippensburg and Becky G. Dodge (and husband, Maurice) also of Shippensburg,
his dear friend, Nancy Sproch, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces
and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by two sisters; Catherine Jumper and Clara Brown. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. in the
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Lewis Splain officiating. Burial will be in McClure’s
Gap Church of God Cemetery, Newville. A viewing will be on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of the services. Memorial
contributions may be made to Friends In Christ Church, 154 Lefever Rd., Newville, PA 17241.
