Robert Lee Ritter, 66, of Boiling Springs, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 17, 2012, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.  He was born on Friday, December 7, 1945, in Mechanicsburg, a son of the late William F. and Alberta M. (Bardall) Ritter.  He was raised by his beloved foster mother and father, Carrie and George Hosler.

Bob graduated from Cumberland Valley High School and served briefly in the US Air Force.  He recently retired after 19 years of service with Nell's Shurfine Market on the Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, where he was the assistant dairy manager.  Bob also had worked for the former Hugh's Market in Mt. Holly Springs.  He was an avid Cumberland Valley Eagles and Steelers football fan, enjoyed taking long walks around Boiling Springs and the Children's Lake every day, going out to dinner with his devoted companion, Joice and spending time with family.  Bob was a loyal member of Carlisle Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1976.

He leaves behind his loving companion of 30 years, Joice F. Remy, her son, Paul (and his wife, Deborah) Remy of Boiling Springs, grandson, Paul Remy of Miami and granddaughter, Sarah Remy of Boiling Springs.  Also surviving are his sisters; Dolores Bashore of Palmyra and Nancy Oneill and Bonnie Beitler, both of Harrisburg, his brothers; William Ritter of Harrisburg and Gary Ritter of Shermans Dale and additional brothers; Max, Jake and Kenny.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Timothy W. Sadler officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
