
Florence Gensler Stone,
86, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
She was born on Saturday, August 22, 1925, in Mechanicsburg, a daughter of the late Roy F. and Cora M. (Sheaffer) Gensler. She was a 1943
graduate of Carlisle High School and retired from the University of Delaware after many years of service. She was a
member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle. Florence was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed collecting autographs
that ranged from Presidents of the United States to professional athletes. Florence enjoyed
spending time at the Salvation Army and always looked forward to going to Sandy Cove Retreats with her beloved sisters.
Also in her days living in California, she loved her job as a waitress at the "Base Cafe" in Oceanside, CA.
She always told many stories of the servicemen she'd wait on as they were being deployed or just coming back to the states.
She loved anyone that served in the Armed Forces and she loved the USA! She is survived by three
sisters; Exley I. Fitzpatrick of Green Park, Leslie L. Hays of Carlisle and Nancy J. (and her husband, Wallace) Edmonson of
Milton, Delaware, a sister-in-law, Grace Gensler of Newville and many nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death
by one son, Harry Stone, six brothers; Ray, Roy, Leonard, Arthur, Clair and Rodman Gensler and one sister, Elizabeth Bishard. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24,
2012, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Rev. John L. Shellenberger, Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe Twp. Viewing will be held Monday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt
Flossie. She and Fraser enjoyed talking baseball and also about California. She will be missed. Peace.
