
George W. DeWalt, Jr., 74, of Newville,
passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on Saturday, December 4, 1937, in Newville, a
son of the late George W. DeWalt, Sr. and Mary Elva (Johnson) DeWalt. He was married to the late Doris Mary (Hurley) DeWalt,
who died Nov. 1, 2006. George
co-owned and operated with his brother, Darrell, the former DeWalt’s Sales & Service in Newville from 1981 to 1997.
He also had been the assistant garage foreman at the PennDot maintenance shed in Carlisle. George was a social member of Newville
American Legion, the Failor-Wagner V.F.W. Post, also of Newville and a life member of the National Rifle Association. George
loved antique cars and machinery, woodworking and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by one brother, Darrell W. (and his wife, Susan) DeWalt of Newville
and several nieces and nephews including, nephew, Dustin K. (and his wife, Liberty) DeWalt of Newville and great-niece, Cierra
DeWalt of Newville. George was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth A. DeWalt. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012, in the Ewing
Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Pastor Jeff Kettering will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill
Cemetery, Newville. Viewing will be on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services. A time of fellowship will immediately follow
the burial at the Newville Assembly of God Church, Oak Flat Rd., Newville.

We were so very sorry to learn of
your loss. Newville has lost another of its treasured "old-timers". I remember all the good times and great stories
at the garage and gun shop in the 60s and 70s. Junior will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
