Travis L. "Frenchy" Hewitt, 18, of Carlisle, died Friday, December 2, 2011, in South Middleton Twp., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born February 15, 1993, in Carlisle, and was the son of Richard L. Hewitt, Jr. and Dru A. (Knizner) Hewitt of Carlisle.

Travis attended Carlisle High School and received his G.E.D. He loved music and was a skilled and creative writer. Travis played the bass guitar with several area bands and also enjoyed playing video games.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandparents, Richard L. and Irene (Shomo) Hewitt of Carlisle and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Pastor Ryan Brown of New Life Community Church, Carlisle will officiate. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home and immediately following the service for a time of fellowship at the Carlisle Fire & Rescue Co., Spring Rd., Carlisle. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Suite 100, 3211 N. Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17110-1342.
