
Alberta Mae "Bert" Garman,
79, of Carlisle, died Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Harrisburg Hospital. She was born on Friday, January 22, 1932, in Swatara,
a daughter of the late David M. Zeigler and Maude M. (Ritchie) Gumpher Miller. Bert was a loving homemaker and had also worked for the former Piezo Crystal
Co. in Carlisle for several years. She also helped her husband in the family business, where she was a notary public. She
was a former member of the North Middleton Twp. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and she enjoyed playing bingo and listening
to bluegrass and gospel music. She
is survived by her loving and devoted husband of more than 62 years, Earl P. Garman, Sr., two sons; Earl P. Garman, Jr. and
Roger S. Garman, both of Carlisle, two daughters; Nancy L. (and her husband, Roy) Wickard of Carlisle and Debra E. (and her
husband, Paul) DeHoff of Luckey, Ohio, two sisters; Lillian R. Mentzer and Shirley A. Morrison, both of Carlisle, 10 grandchildren,
six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bert was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Timothy A. Funk and Rev. Dr. J. Gerald Greiner officiating.
Burial will be in the Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery, Carlisle. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6 - 8:00
p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
