Carl P. Stewart, 76, of Newville, passed away
Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, September 18, 1935, in Amberson
Valley, a son of the late William P. and Zelda (Stake) Stewart. Carl was a 1955 graduate of Fannett-Metal High School and had served for several
years with the PA National Guard. He retired from Carlisle Tire & Wheel Co. with more than 48 years of service. He was
a member of Newville Church of the Brethren and enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, restoring antique cars and caring for his family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Doris J. (Russell)
Stewart, one daughter, Roxanne E. (and her husband, Michael) Johnson of Newville, one sister, Beatrice Johnson of Orrstown,
two grandsons; Derrick and Blake Johnson, one great-granddaughter, Marlee Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Carl was
preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Stewart. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home,
630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor John Hess officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
Viewings will be held on Tuesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the
services.

Mrs.
Stewart and Roxanne, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know the deep emptiness that you feel. This time is a time of
reflection on the good times and flashbacks of things that happened. Celebrate the wonderful life that you had with him. He
got to see so much in his life. I regret not being able to see you in person ,but due to a previous committment I will not
be able to attend the viewing or services.
